    Rare Mettlach Stein #2531. 1/2 L size. Beautiful 19th Century German Pottery Beer Mug. Most of these seem to come with pewter lids. So I don’t know if this kid has been removed or if they could be purchased without lids. I bought five Mettlach steins from an estate that all came sans lid when I got them. The Stein comes with a repaired handle. It broke in two places as seen in photos. The break was one solid piece luckily so it could easily be glued back in. If you wanted the repair done expertly the adhesive could be loosened easily and a cleaner job could be done. Other than the handle this piece is in wonderful condition. No other flaws that I see.
